Iranian feature ‘Dressage’ has been picked to go on screen at the 68th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) in Germany.
Directed by Pouya Badkoubeh, the film will go on screen at the Generation section of the German event, the organizers announced on Wednesday.
‘Dressage’ tells the story of Golsa and her friends who, motivated primarily by boredom rather than greed, rob a corner shop.
Ali Mosaffa, Shabnam Moqaddami, Houshang Tavakkoli, Alireza Sanifar, Alireza Aqakhani, and Siamak Adib are among the cast list.
The Iranian film will join two other representatives of Iran, ‘Hendi & Hormoz’ as well as ‘Pig’, at the 68th Berlinale.
Directed by Abbas Amini, ‘Hendi & Hormoz’ is about a 16-year-old boy, Hormoz, who is married to Hendi, three years younger than him, after he promises that he can work as a miner. But the young man finds closed doors instead of a job.
Directed by Mani Haqiqi, ‘Pig’ depicts the story of Hassan, a filmmaker who has not been able to make any films lately, but his admired starlet can’t wait any longer and wants to leave and work with another director.
Founded in 1951, the Berlin International Film Festival is one of the world’s leading film events which is held in Germany and is celebrated annually in February.
The 68th edition of the Berlinale will run in the German city on February 15-25, 2018.
